Trip to Blue Hill at Stone Barns on a sunny day

On Sunday, Rich and I drove to Blue Hill Farms. It was a really nice day. Blue Hill and the stone barns are part of the Rockefeller Estate. The grow an amazing amount of vegetables, fruits and herbs and have livestock and poultry. Everything is 100% organic.

They have a wonderful restaurant where they prepare all dishes from what they produce on the farm. The folks at Blue Hill at Stone Barns believe that what we buy in our markets and what we consume should be produced locally (as much as possible).

Anyways, It was nice to be out in the warm sun and play around with the animals...Especially the piggy's. It also got us in the mood to plant our own garden later that afternoon.

More of that to come....

Finally a beautiful sunny day...

After all of the rain and cold last week...

There were beautiful little wildflowers. Buttercups (I think).

We spent some time in the sheep's field.

The sheep had plenty to eat...

Come out, come out wherever you are !

I thought these pigs were really cute !

This pig just slept all day...

...He was happy !

Big Mama piggy and the little ones.

Some of them were wrestling a little bit.

Some of the piggies wanted to take a little rest.

We went to have some iced tea...the piggy's took a drink too !

A few weeks ago, Rich met Hilary Swank (Million Dollar Baby), at the Tribeca Film Festival. I want to be doing more of this...
